Buses took us on a side trips to Akaroa and, for the Milford Track trip, to Te Anau and back from Milford Sound.

Our route is marked in yellow. We started in
Christchurch and ended up in Auckland. Altogether we drove almost
exactly 3,000 km (1,800 miles) in the campervan from Queenstown to
Auckland. Besides this we had a rental car from Christchurch to
Queenstown.
