Elizabeth arrived in Knightsville, Indiana on 10 Oct 1870.
From the "Came, Greet, Dunn, Sackett" book by Anna Dunn Snyder Bajoras:
"Grandfather, Joseph Perrin Came, was nine years old when his Mother and her six children arrived in Knightsville, Indiana on October 5, 1870.
Glen Voyles wrote that his Grandmother, Elizabeth Perrin Came, had told him of her trip across the Atlantic on the ship Helvetia. Her own Mother and sister probably accompanied her. They embarked at Liverpool, England and landed at New York, went by boat to Albany where they boarded a train for Harmony, Indiana; one mile East of Knightsville. Her husband, Henry Came had preceded her by a few years and had worked in the coal mines of Pennsylvania. She had talked quite a bit about Sommersetshire, England; probably her homeland.
They lived on the East side of Clay Street about the fourth house from the National Road, now called Highway 40. That is the "New England" section of Knightsville. I have been told that when the house was built, oxen pulled the undersills into place. The Dunn family lived across the street.
I was about ten years old when we moved to Sheperdsville. I vaguely remember Great Grandmother Came and Aunt Lina. Aunt Lina was a very pretty lady who sewed with a thimble quite different than my Mother's. It was just a band around the finger, whereas Mother's had the end closed. Aunt Lina had teased me and said that all good seamstresses had thimbles like hers. Great Grandmother was a very tiny lady. I remember her cute little tea kettle, her fancy cook stove, her summer kitchen and the gooseberries and currants that grew on her back fence. I also remember Uncle Jack being sick in bed."

 HELVETIA Ship
The "Helvetia" was a 3,318 gross ton ship, built in 1864 by Palmer Bros & Co, Jarrow-on-Tyne for the National Line of Liverpool. Her details were - length 371.5ft x beam 41.2ft, clipper stem, one funnel, three masts (rigged for sail), iron construction, single screw and a speed of 10 knots. Launched on 16/11/1864, she sailed from Liverpool on her maiden voyage to Queenstown (Cobh) and New York on 28/3/1865. She started her last voyage on this service on 25/5/1871 and on 11/7/1871 commenced London - Havre - New York sailings. Rebuilt to 3,982 gross tons in 1872 and fitted with compound engines by J.Penn & Sons, London in 1873-4, she resumed Liverpool - Queenstown - New York voyages on 14/10/1874. In 1877 she was lengthened to 419ft, 4,588 tons, saloon cabins rebuilt amidships, and with accommodation for 72-1st and 1,200-3rd class passengers. From 1877 to 1886 she continued on the Liverpool to New York service, and from 1886 to 1891 was used from either Liverpool or London to New York. Her last Liverpool - Queenstown - New York sailing started on 26/3/1891 and she resumed London - New York sailings on 6/8/1891. On 8/9/1892 she started her last voyage on this service and in 1893 was sold to French owners. She was abandoned and lost off Cape Finisterre in April 1894, while on voyage to shipbreakers.  From the "Came, Greet, Dunn, Sackett" book:
"Aunt Mildred (Mildred Louise Came) had written in her memoirs that she understood Harry Suttie had the family bible. I visited Harry this spring (1978) while on my tour of Indiana. He has the Bible, but there are no family records in it. Harry told me that Grandmother Maria (Perkins) Perrin was buried in Old Hill Cemetery in Brazil, that her grave was moved when the Water Works Road was widened. He doesn't know where the grave is located. Perhaps some of you living in Brazil could find it."
